The doctoral program at OPIM encourages an innovative, yet rigorous, approach to business research. Students learn to appreciate each of the three main research paradigms - analytical, empirical and behavioral. The flexibility in defining my research agenda and the promise of support from world class researchers in the faculty, were the factors which drew me to Wharton in the first place. |

Doctoral students in the Operations and Information Management Department who conduct experiments have access to extraordinary resources for research. For example, between the OPIM, Marketing, and Psychology Departments, we have established pools of subjects for laboratory and survey research consisting of thousands of individuals. |

I came to Wharton for two reasons: the wide variety of research interests held by the faculty, and their eagerness to discuss and explore new ideas. No matter what sort of research you want to perform, you can always find a faculty member who is either already interested in the area or who is willing to learn about it with you. |

Admitted students are granted a four-year fellowship, including tuition and stipend. After their first year, students participate in the intellectual life of the department by working as a research or teaching fellow. |
